K9 by Natural World, on Beacon Hill Road, Newark, will open next month

A specialty shop for dog owners is set to open in April.

Specialist dog superstore K9 by Natural World will take over vacant premises next to the Co-op on Beacon Hill Road, Newark.

Scott Hendry opened the first K9 by Natural World store in Wellingborough last year.

He is also the Managing Director of Natural World Pet Products, a pet company that has been in business for almost 30 years.

“We opened the store in Wellingborough because we wanted to become even more specialist and train staff in one area,” he said.

“The Newark store fits our size profile perfectly.”

Scott said the backbone of K9 by Natural World is the healthy food it stocks.

The Newark store will have 14 raw dog food freezers, including nine brands, as well as a variety of wet and dry foods.

“We have quite a large selection of foods to choose from and we have quite a large selection of raw dog foods,” Scott said.

“It’s something that a lot of general pet stores don’t focus on,” Scott said.

The store will also offer 70 to 80 types of natural dog treats, such as pig ears and chicken feet.

“It will be the centerpiece of the store,” Scott said.

Scott is currently recruiting for the store, including management positions and full/part time positions.

All staff will be trained on the job and all applicants must demonstrate a keen interest in dogs.
