Viral Video of K9 Dog Receiving Retirement Smothered Everything

We are in tears after watching this.

Although they are completely different species, humans and dogs have a lot in common. Dogs work just as hard, love just as fully, and enjoy the same stages of life as we do. When a dog has a job, however, these similarities only grow.

So it only makes sense that @k9_grimm received a retirement worthy of any loyal officer. After dedicating approximately 50 dog years (equivalent to 7 human years) to the protection of his community, Grimm the Dutch Shepherd can now enjoy his golden years in a peaceful and happy retirement… with his officer/owner, of course!

Congratulations, Grimm! Your retirement is well deserved, although we have no doubt that your fellow officers will miss seeing you. We know we would!

Apparently, @odin.von.raferty would be too! They said they’re “crying for a dog I’ve never met, just retiring🥰”, and they’re not the only ones. Pass the tissues, please!

“It made me cry 🥺,” @suemc71 agreed. Who knew retirement could be so emotional? Even Grimm’s father – his work partner and devoted owner – couldn’t deny the emotions. He said: “I couldn’t say anything more after the signing. Thankfully he is healthy and I will cherish the years to come with him as my best friend back home ❤️.” We are so happy for you!

“The way he got so excited when she started talking to him 😭😭”, was a favorite @spaceypeach moment, and we loved it too. He couldn’t even sit still on stage! Even though he didn’t know what kind of calling he was getting, we can tell how much he enjoyed working with his father. Now they can play, instead!
